Trekking in The High Mountain Range of Sinai this tour is a trek on foot in the area around the Sinai.
Food and equipment are carried on camels’ backs, form one night camp to the next. A trek in this region is a unique experience that combines Bedouin population, and a visit to one of the holiest sites of the world’s major monotheistic religions. More and more western travelers are beginning to roam through out Sinai Peninsula in vehicles. But the mountains area is UN Penetrable by vehicle and have therefore remained relatively unexplored.
This is a riding tour on camels in the area of south Sinai between the Gulf of Aqaba and the Gulf of Suez crossing the high mountains range of Sinai.
Riding through this region includes climbing beautiful mountains and hiking through lovely wades. All routs are un penetrable by vehicles and therefore it has a very special atmosphere that you can never have in any region.
We frequently leave the prescribed rout to travel along new trails, seeking out beautiful scenery, archeological sites and Bedouin encampments many of them never visited by westerners. A Bedouin mountain guide with an intimate knowledge of the region assists us on hikes. Along with the camel riders, enables us to become better aquatinted with the Bedouin lifestyle.

Desert Trekking Programs
A: Camel Trekking around Mount Sinai
Day 1: Arrive Sharm El Sheik airport, transfer to Dahab, overnight in hotel.
Day 2: Depart by minibus towards Mount Sinai. Meet up with Camels and begin our tour
Towards the ridges of Abu Jiffa
Day 3: Ascent of Mount Abu Gassab (2205m), the summit of the Jebel Bab range, with a breathtaking view over South Sinai. Picnic in the vicinity of the Ain Nagila spring. We pass a settlement dating from the Byzantine time period, descent into the “Farsh al Rumman” valley the valley of pomegranates – where we will spend the night.

Day 4: Walk through the Wadi al Tala canyon, from one spring to the next, with the possibility of swimming in a natural pool. We climb the Markha ridge and then cross the Farsh Markha and the Farsh Umm Silla Valleys to arrive at our evening camp in the gardens of Wadi Tweita.
Day 5: following the Wadi Tinia we cross the Shekeria ridge before we climb the Jebel Abbas Basha (2389m), the highest peak on our trip. Descent towards the Farsh Abu Mahashour Valley, where we see many Byzantine relics. On the Wadi Shag, spending the night near Harazat Ash-Shag.
Day 6: we trek along the deep Wadi Ahmar gorges. Optional climb of Jebel Ahmar (2318m). Descending we reach Wadi Al Arbaiin and pass the olive groves of St. Catherine’s Monastery until we reach the slopes of Jebel Safsafa, where we will find traces on an early monastic lifestyle. We spend the night in the vicinity of the Elias Cave.
Day 7: An early morning climb up Mount Sinai (2285m) to experience the sunrise from the summit. After descending we visit the famous St. Catherine’s Monastery. We return to Dahab by minibus, where there is still time to enjoy a relaxing swim in the sea. Overnight in the hotel.

B: Wadis, Jebels, Oases – The Secret of the Sinai
Day 1: Arrive Sharm El Sheik airport, transfer to Dahab, overnight in hotel.
Day 2: Drive by minibus to Nuweiba to swim with a tamed dolphin. Now we start our tour through the Wadi Washawir area. By afternoon we reach Wadi Washawir, from where we drive through a rugged landscape to the Moyet Ivlalha and to the Freia Valley, where we will set up our camp.
Day 3: After climbing the Kuhul Ridge we land in the Wadi Ma’atarshi and reach the
entrance to the Colored Canyon, a colorful ravine full of chiselled sandstone formations. From here we go by camel to Bir Biria Oasis.
Day 4: We ride through a plateau of basalt and granite rock formations as well as big sand Dunes near Wadi Watir, before reaching Bir Sawra oasis. Our caravan strides through the Wide wadis to our campsite at the Moyet Sawara Oasis.
Day 5: We ride in a southerly direction past Jebel Burga. After the Ras al Galb Pass we cross the palm-filled Umm Ahmad oasis. We follow the granite canyon of Wadi al Ain, where We can have a quick dip. At Wadi Zarnich we see gravesites of the Nabateneans dating to 400 BC. We spend the night at the foot of Mount Burga.
Day 6: We reach Ain Khudra oasis where we come across resident Bedouins. We continue over the Hmeidat Ridge to the entrance of Wadi Ruhbia, where we will stay overnight.
Day 7. We climb Jebel Umm Leikhas (946m), which resembles a moon landscape. Via Wadi Shamghi we reach the asphalt road from where the minibus will take us back to Dahab. Relax at the sea, either swimming, diving or snorkeling.

C: One Week Sinai
Combination of 3 days desert, St. Catherine’s Monastery and relaxation at the Red Sea
Day 1: Arrive in Sharm el Sheikh airport, transfer to Dahab, overnight in hotel
Day 2: Drive to Nuweiba, meet up with our camels and off into the desert. Camp out under
the starry sky
Day 3-5: Three days through the desert by camel. We traverse the Sinai mountains – a
chaos of volcanic rocks. A desertscape broken by wadis, bizarre sandstone formation, rocks
coloured by oxidised iron, through sandstone mountains eroded by wind and water – almost as they were sculpted by artists. Constantly we cross over basalt and granite as well as sandy dunes. We traverse the famous Coloured Canyon, ride through palm filled oases and encounter and experience the lifestyle of the Bedouins of the Tarabin tribe.
Day 6: Transfer to Mount Sinai, which is situated in the heart of the Sinai. The highest peak
of this mountain range is 2600m. There are valleys and gorges with spring water, where the Bedouin and monks cultivate fruit trees and vegetables. We visit St. Catherine’s Monastery, one of the oldest monasteries, built in the Byzantine epoch. Here you can find one of the world’s oldest and most valuable monastery libraries.
Day 7: Early morning climb up mount Sinai (2285m) to experience the sunrise. After the descent, transfer back to Dahab where you can enjoy the beauty of the coral reefs and colorful marine life, either by swimming, snorkeling or diving. Overnight in hotel. Day 8: Transfer to airport. Return flight. This tour can be adapted to suit individual requirements and may vary from the set program depending on the guide, group and climatic conditions.

D: Duna
Day 1: Arrive in Sharm el Sheikh airport, transfer to Dahab, overnight in hotel
Day 2: Early morning transfer to the camel meeting point in Wadi Hammam. After loading
the camels and a brief introduction in camel riding, we ride through the Wadi Hammam. After a picnic we carry on until we reach our campsite under the trees.
Day 3: Our camels take us through various wadis, amongst them Wadi Safra, where sandy
dunes meet sandstone formations. We reach the foot of Jebel el Barraga where we will spend the night under the starry sky.
Day 4: After a generous breakfast we trek through the Barraga Canyon and further
Through Wadi Safra. This is where the annual camel races of the Muzeina Bedouin tribe are
Held. We lunch in this sandy desert and then continue to the Nawamis, the old stone dwellings Of the Nabataneans (400BC). Our caravan continues through the sandstone mountains to Wadi Kery, where we will spend the night.
Day 5: We ride through Wadi el Ghazzala and cross over a mountain range, continue Through Wadi Ghazzala until we reach our evening’s destination of Wadi Khudra.
Day 6: we ride through the Wadi until we reach the Ain Khudra oasis, where we meet
Bedouins, drink tea, eat Bedouin brad and our lunch. We walk through the White Canyon by
Foot, meet up again with the camels and ride to the “Rock of Inscriptions”. At the end of the
Day we leave of our camels and drive back to Dahab. Overnight in hotel.
Day7: Is spent relaxing at the sea in Dahab. Possibilities for swimming, diving and
Snorkeling. Optional outing to the famous Blue Hole. Overnight in hotel.
Day 8: Transfer to airport. Return flight.

E: Umm Shumar, 1 Week Camel Safari
Day 1: Arrival to airport Sharm el Sheikh, transfer to Dahab, overnight in hotel cook at the fire, eat Bedouin bread and sleep under the stars.
Day 3: Early morning we will climb the mountain Umm Shumar (2586m), then we return back to the Wadi Ramhana, where we spend the night.
Day 4: Our next destination is the water of Zalaga. In the Wadi el Aksuriya we find an Oasis full of palm trees, there we will spend the night.
Day 5: Our Camel safari continues through the Wadi Waraa to the Wadi Nasb. Through a
canyon we reach the Wadi Ras Zaghra. We will spend the night at the Wadi Abu Ksheeb.
Day 6: From the Wadi Abu Ksheeb we walk to the Wadi Hamman Oasis. After we will walk
through beautiful dunes of white and yellow sand, enjoying a marvellous view and reach the Maghrum Mountain, the mountain with the hole, where we will sleep.
Day 7: After breakfast we will climb the big Duna Heduda and go down to the Wadi Gibi.
We walk through the Wadi until we reach the road, where we say good-bye to the camels and will be driven back to Dahab. In Dahab we can swim and relax. Overnight in the hotel
Day 8: Transfer to the airport. Return flight
